Amish Originals Furniture Co.: Miriam's Journal, April 6, 2009

April 6, 2009

Dear Journal,

We are now in the first week of April. It has been cool and rainy the first part of the week. Yesterday and today was nice and sunny. It seems very much like spring.
I will continue with introducing our children.

Beth is 19-1/2-years-old and does the final assembly in our furniture shop. She is very precise and particular, making her an important asset to the business. She also likes to do painting in her spare time, preferably with acrylics.

Joas has a birthday today, making him 18-years-old. He’s doing well in coming along in his Dad’s footsteps. He can pretty much run the shop if Dad’s gone. He also has a special friend, Sally.

Emma is 16-3/4-years-old and works in our finishing room. Getting a nice, smooth finish on the furniture is very important.

Ella is 15-years-old. She helps Emma in the finishing room. She can also do wood turnings if it’s needed. Ella is an artist. She’s always sketching horses or riding them.

Roman is 13-years-old and in his last year of school. He helps in the shop before and after school. He makes small things like end tables, serving trays, bed steps, and chair bases.

Mandie is 11-1/2-years-old. Rosie is 10; the next three are boys, Hans, 9; James, 7-1/2; Ray, 6-1/2. They are like the 3 musketeers. What one doesn’t think up, the others do.

Little Linda is almost 2-years-old and everyone’s pet. She is very spoiled, but we are working on potty training her, so she’s not too spoiled. : )

More, later...

Miriam
