Blogging officially takes over the world
Wanna know how far behind the times you are?
Well, if you don’t have a blog, you’re behind even the Amish.
Westerville-based Amish Originals Furniture Co. last month launched a blog written by the matriarch of an Amish family in Holmes County. “Miriam’s Journal” will follow the life of the unidentified mother of 14 in postings that we can only assume aren’t uploaded from a computer.
“We thought it would be interesting for our customers to read about the daily life of a real Amish family,” said Beth Allen, one of Amish Originals’ partners.
Allen isn’t Amish and none of the company’s Amish employees will take time out to run the blog, found at amishoriginalsfurnitureco.blogspot.com.
Allen said the blog is an effort to promote the business and connect with customers on a personal level. The blog allows readers to submit questions and comments for Miriam as they follow along with her journal. Allen said she hopes to educate people about the Amish lifestyle and Amish-made furniture.
